»What to do with tenderness?«
Opening: December 7, 6pm, Treviris Passage, Trier
From December 7, 2024, to February 16, 2025, Kunsthalle Trier will transform the vacant spaces of the Treviris Passage in the heart of Trier into a vibrant site of care with the exhibition »What to do with tenderness?«.
The exhibition addresses urgent societal issues surrounding care, repair, and healing, exploring care not only as an interpersonal practice but also critically examining in its political and structural dimensions.
The title of the exhibition invites reflexion on how tenderness can be embodied in a world often marked by conflict and tension. Through diverse artistic strategies, the participating artists develop distinct languages of tenderness, offering new perspectives on a just and mindful coexistence.
In dialogue with the local community and the site‘s history, the exhibition encourages visitors to explore new forms of solidarity and attentiveness. Central to the experience is a communal space designed to foster spontaneous encounters, social interactions, and conversations among diverse voices.
