tarantula’s kiss

Tarantula’s Kiss consists a large scale photo wallpaper(3x6m) of the latest image from the James Webb telescope depicting the tarantula nebula, a large galactic formation of endless stars and cosmic nebulas. On this background 11 spaceflowers as lenticular prints in two different sizes are mounted on the wall.

The lenticular prints presented as part of the exhibition „Shapes of Action“ link organic and non-organic nature: the AI-supported overlays of photographs of flowering plants from the artist’s garden and photographs of the universe from NASA’s online archive intertwine the relationships between ecological and virtual environments questions about temporality and scalability. Only by providing deeper insights through the movement of the viewer do they bring our perception into focus.
